Message from Your Community League Board 2026
Fall 2026

A Thank You and a New Chapter for Woodcroft
As President of the Woodcroft Community League for the past six years, I have been honored to write this message from the Board.
Looking back, our community has changed a lot. We have welcomed many new and terrific people. We also worked hard to keep our Community Centre in good shape by finishing three phases of renovations.
What Volunteering Means
Someone once asked me why I volunteer. I thought of the events and the good work we did. But when it comes down to it, volunteering is about relationships. It is about the people.
At its core, a community is just people. People come together, get to know each other, and work side by side to build a project or run an event. I have met so many amazing people who I now call friends.
We Need You
People are what our community league needs most.
• Attend or run events: Maybe you enjoyed an event, or maybe you have an idea for a new one you want to run.
• Join the board: You can gain board experience by joining our groups that run 10 months out of the year. This experience can count as professional development hours for your job.
• Meet neighbors: If you are new and want to know your neighbors, volunteering is a great way to start.
• You do not need to spend a lot of time. You can give as much time as you want. Help with one event or join the board.
My Next Step
After serving my full three terms, I am stepping down as President, but I am not leaving the organization. I plan to stay involved and help out. We need you to keep Woodcroft a great place to live. If you want to help, send me an email. I would love to chat.

Woodcroft Community League President
