Dear Woodcroft Community Members and Residents,

As you are all aware we are in a difficult and challenging time due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This situation is changing by the day, if not by the hour. In light of this, we are monitoring and following the changing guidelines put forth by the City of Edmonton, Alberta Health Services, the Canadian Government, and the World Health Organization.

*All of the city and community closures are going to have a major impact on families with young children, our senior population, and anyone living with medical conditions. We urge our community members to continue to look out for each other and please be available to assist with any support that might be needed. It isn't often that we get the opportunity to consider how, when our environment is suddenly changed, it is the people we are surrounded by--our neighbours, friends, and family--that we turn to in those hours of need. Let's be the best neighbors we can be and let’s be a community that supports one another in our time of need.

We will be updating you as we make changes to events at, and access to, the Woodcroft Community Centre.

Playground Closures

For your protection and safety, effective immediately, city-owned playgrounds will be closed. In addition drinking water and decorative fountains will not be turned on and the number of tables at picnic sites will be reduced or closed.

Spray parks will not be turned on at their normal seasonal time between April-May. We appreciate that this will disappoint many children and families. We’ve taken this step to ensure the safety of all Edmontonians.

Woodcroft Community League - COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Woodcroft Community Members and Residents,

As you are all aware we are in a difficult and challenging time due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. This situation is changing by the day, if not by the hour. In light of this, the Woodcroft Community League is taking precautionary measures to help prevent the spread of the illness.

We are monitoring and following the changing guidelines put forth by the City of Edmonton, Alberta Health Services, the Canadian Government, and the World Health Organization.

We will be updating you as we make changes to events at, and access to, the Woodcroft Community Centre.

In the meantime we continue to practice safety measures including limiting the number of people in the facility at any one time, having soap readily available and encouraging repeated hand washing, and asking people who have been experiencing any cold like symptoms to refrain from entering the building/attending events.

Taking into consideration everything mentioned above, the Woodcroft Community League Board of Directors have made the decision to cancel the following programs and events:.

*Parent and Tot Program: Canceled through the end of April. Then we will reevaluate

*Easter Egg Hunt: Cancelled

*Hall rentals: Suspended until after May 18th

*Rink Shack: Closed - Skate at your own risk

We will continue to update you by email and Facebook as events are canceled or changed.

All of the city and community closures are going to have a major impact on families with young children, our senior population, and anyone living with medical conditions.

The board is looking for ways to help the community support one another and will be sending out more information as it becomes available.
