Edmonton’s New City Plan and Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative

The City of Edmonton is in the process of adopting a new City Plan.  See the City Council Public Hearing Minutes of Mon. September 14, 2020 at:  https://pub-edmonton.escribemeetings.com/FileStream.ashx?DocumentId=58798

The City Plan sets strategic direction for the way Edmonton grows, its mobility systems, open spaces, employment, and social networks, generally touching on most aspects of life in Edmonton. More information about the new City Plan can be found by exploring the links at:  https://www.edmonton.ca/city_government/city_vision_and_strategic_plan/city-plan.aspx

The New City Plan will be implemented by regulations called Zoning Bylaws, which are currently being re-written as part of the Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative.  Please explore the links at:  https://engaged.edmonton.ca/zoningbylawrenewalinitiative  and https://www.edmonton.ca/city_government/urban_planning_and_design/zoning-bylaw-renewal-get-involved.aspx

There will be insufficient time for the Community League to survey our residents for the input required to represent you regarding matters related to the Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative.  Therefore, we strongly encourage you to read through the information documents we will be forwarding to you and posting on our website.  We encourage you to participate in any information sessions and surveys produced as part of this process.
